I held him and said that I will take you to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. left When morning came, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me. Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu Anhu, what happened to your prisoner? He (peace be upon him) said: Be careful, he has lied.

He said, “Leave me. I will teach you such words that Allah will benefit you because of them.” I said, “What are those words?” He said, “When you lie down on your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi.” A protector will be appointed for you by Allah the Almighty, and no devil will come near you until morning, so I gave him leave. In the morning, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to me: What happened to your prisoner?
So I left it this time too. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “What were those words?” I said that he said that when you lie down on your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi. A protector will be appointed for you by Allah Almighty and no Satan will come near you until morning.
